Inventory
Silk Threads Lifestyle stocks a limited number of our home furnishings product line. For those items in stock, delivery is usually between 2 – 3 weeks. Because of the very nature of our custom design work specific to your needs, most of our products are “made to order” with delivery within 6-10 weeks. For large orders, we follow the customary 90- 120 delivery timetable upon final approval of pre-production samples.
Owner/Designer Profile
As President of Silk Threads Designer Collection and now Silk Threads Lifestyle, Ruby Bhandari is fully engaged in all facets of the business. Ruby founded Silk Threads out of her personal desire for fashionable ethnic wear that reflected both her Indian heritage but also spoke to her Western sensibilities. Born in New York State and raised and educated in Austin, Texas, Ruby started Silk Threads while still pursuing her degree in Business at the University of Texas. After first designing for herself and friends and family, Ruby decided that there was an underserved ethnic market as the Indian and Pakistani communities continued to grow in the US. After contracting out the manufacturing of her designs for a number of years, Ruby decided to open her own manufacturing unit in India to control and maintain the level of service and quality workmanship that she had come to demand. With a solid foundation in apparel, Ms. Bhandari decided to apply her considerable design talents to the home furnishings market in 2001. After showcasing her home furnishings products in markets across the country, Ruby chose to form a separate division for the home décor market. Silk Threads Lifestyle, established in 2003, is now actively working with various designers and retailers to bring the unique designs of Silk Threads to finer stores across the country. Ms. Bhandari provides the artistic and operational direction in both divisions of the business on a daily basis. |
