At Silk Threads, we believe the most special outfits are the ones that carry meaning. Today, we are honored to share the story of Priya, who trusted us to transform her mother’s old saree into a modern custom pants and jacket suit for one of the most important moments of her life.
By blending tradition with contemporary tailoring, we helped Priya create an outfit that was personal, stylish, and deeply sentimental.
Silk Threads – What was the special occasion you were trying to find the dress for?
Priya – I was looking for an outfit for my wedding welcome party.
Silk Threads – What design did you have in mind?
Priya – I wanted a custom blazer made from one of my mom’s old sarees. It was important to me to wear something that belonged to my mom during such a once in a lifetime event, but I also wanted it to feel modern and representative of my personal style. The Silk Threads team immediately understood my vision and elevated it further by suggesting matching pants to complete the look.
Silk Threads – What brought you to Silk Threads?
Priya – I was looking for somewhere local and Indian. The quick responses and the ability to create exactly what I was looking for made the decision a no brainer.
Silk Threads – What do you like the most about Silk Threads and its staff?
Priya – Everyone at Silk Threads was extremely nice and so helpful. The ease of working with the team really stood out. I was always able to call or even text to get quick assistance. When my wedding outfit arrived and needed alterations, I immediately went to Silk Threads because I knew they would do a great job. Truly, everyone was always willing to lend a hand and support me during a very stressful time.
Silk Threads – Any tips for our readers?
